Kyle Bingham is a new Algebra 2 teacher for Durant high school. He spent 11 years working as a math teacher at, Clearwater Christian College.

How long have you been working in the Hillsborough County School System?

“I’ve been teaching for a total of 12 Years and 11 of those have been math”

What is your job here at Durant?

“I’m mostly doing Algebra 2 in person, but I also have an online class as well”

What are your first impressions for teaching at Durant?

 “It’s completely different coming in and returning along with Covid. But I mean, all things considered, it’s been really nice, staff is good, co-workers are great, and it’s been really warm and acceptable”

What is your favorite thing to do outside of work instead of teaching?

“I do a little bit of coaching fall ball soccer, and just hanging out with my family, which is really great”

What made you choose to pick Durant?

“They were the first school to call me and I was like ‘Yeah lets go!’

What is the best part about your job?

“Seeing the lightbulb come on for students that don’t know or struggling”

How about difficult parts?

“Grading, most definitely. Keeping up with it is the big problem”
