T-Swizzle is back! Also known as: Taylor Swift, she released a new album on Oct. 21 at midnight sharp. Fans across the world have been waiting for her 10th studio album, “Midnights”.

Swift released the names of the tracks on TikTok, a feature called “Midnights Mayhem With Me.” Swifties were excited to learn that Lana Del Rey would be featured on the 4th track: “Snow On The Beach.” One bit of surprise though, when fans went to listen to the song, they learned that Del Rey only got backup vocals. “Taylor Swift is not known for featuring people on her albums. She’s a very independent person so I feel when people heard that Lana Del Rey was going to be in the song, they expected too much because they didn’t take time to realize this is Taylor Swift,” said freshman Kori Turner.

When the clock struck midnight, fans got the most anticipated album of the year, “Midnights.” At 3 a.m., Swifties got the “Midnights” (3 a.m. Edition) which included seven new tracks.

Fans across Durant have been streaming “Midnights” since it came out in October. Freshman Audrina Rogers stayed up until 3 a.m. on Oct. 21 just to listen to the mystery announcement.
“I thought the 3 a.m. release was going to be a tour announcement. I was really excited to learn that there was going to be more songs,” Rogers said.

With a new album from Swift comes new broken records. Swift claimed all top 10 spots of the Billboard Hot 100 and reached up to 185 million streams on release day, both of which have never been done before and won’t easily be done again.
