2022-2023 Durant Basketball Schedule
January 2, 2023
Durant boys basketball expects to have an exciting season this year. Their regular season tipped off at home Nov. 29 against Sumner.
They finished 12-14 last season and are hoping to beat that this year while being led by Head Coach Jacob Baer. “This season we are hoping to build off of last year. We had a productive season, but our record didn’t show it. This year we have 10 seniors, and we are looking to make it as far as we can in the playoffs to send them off the right way.”
With a successful turnaround season as the goal, these cougar athletes are practicing hard. Baer strives to maximize his practices. “We practice typically five to six days a week for two hours at a time. We take our preparation very seriously, so we spend a bunch of time game planning and homing in on our individual skills.”
As Durant puts their individual talents and positions together they have the ability to be a strong team. When Senior Abiola Adeyemo was asked what he wants to accomplish this year he responded, “A successful season by blowing teams out and building better chemistry with my teammates.”
Durant lost to Sumner by just one point last season and was hoping for redemption. They showed up and all their hard work and preparation paid off with a win of 53-45. They are 2-0 right now so make sure to come out and support these cougars.
