Tyler and Amy Clites were the winners of the first season of FOX’s LEGO Masters and $100,000.

Wednesday, April 15th local couple Tyler and Amy Clites from Bradenton FL were announced as FOX’s LEGO Masters.

FOX’s “LEGO Masters” is a competition show where teams are eliminated one by one over a span of ten episodes. Teams of two compete in a series of timed challenges creating masterpieces made out of LEGO’s.

Each episode contained its own theme, inspiring builders as they plan their builds. The show is hosted by Will Arnett, voice of Batman in “LEGO Movie”, and judged by “BrickMasters” Amy Corbett and Jamie Berard.. “LEGO Masters” airs each Wednesday on FOX at 9pm.

The winners were announced Wednesday during the final episode after a 24-hour free build challenge. Much to their surprise, Tyler and Amy Clites were declared as this seasons LEGO Masters and received the 100,000-dollar prize.

During an interview with FOX News’ Charlie Belcher, the couple explained their excitement upon receiving this honor. They state that as they were standing there before the judges, they were mentally rehearsing their second-place speech, expecting not to win. Amy states that as she heard her named called by the “BrickMasters”, she felt that it “stopped her heart completely”. Tyler explains similar emotions stating that he was “just blown away” after hearing they had won.

They also explained the difficulty of keeping this secret until the episode had aired, since it was filmed ahead of time. Amy explains this was always causing them to think about who they were with, who knew, and who did not.  They say that they had to live in balance and learn to be mindful of their conversations and who they are with.

As the couple readjust to life at home, they share their plans for what they plan to use their prize money on. They explain on the show and in the interview that they are currently renting, and the space has become too small for them, especially with a baby on the way. After joking about going to Vegas, they state how they are planning on buying a bigger home for themselves and preparing for their baby boy coming this summer.

The couple talks about how all the time they spent building with LEGOS had prepared them for the show, and now they don’t exactly know what is next for their family, but it will definitely be including LEGOS. The show has announced that it will be returning for another season with new contestants and challenges and is currently casting at http://legomasters.tv/.

Award Season Begins with the 62nd Grammy Awards

With 15 Grammys, Alicia Keys took the stage to host the Grammys for thee second time, her first time being in 2019.

With 15 Grammys, Alicia Keys took the stage to host the Grammys for thee second time, her first time being in 2019.

Musical artists came together on January 26, 2020 for the 62nd annual Grammy Awards, at the Staples Center, to celebrate their achievements in the music industry. There were many highlights of the award show, but the one that stood out at the Grammys was the musical tributes to the late basketball star, Kobe Bryant, who was killed in a helicopter accident along with his daughter earlier that day.

To kick off the show, pop singer, Lizzo, dedicated her performance and the show to Kobe Bryant. Not only did Lizzo recognize Kobe Bryant in her performance, but so did Alicia Keys.

The host of the 62nd Grammy Awards, Alicia Keys, sang along beside Boyz II Men to sing “It’s So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday,” to honor Kobe Bryant and his daughter. By doing this, the singers and the audience rooted the memory of Kobe Bryant into the awards ceremony that night. Even through this sad time, Alicia Keys was still able to set the stage for the show to start.

The night was filled with jaw dropping performances from many artists such as Camila Cabello, Aerosmith, and Arianna Grande. Beyond these performances, artist collaboration created some amazing performances at the Grammys. For example, Lil Nas X performed his hit single “Old Town Road” with Mason Ramsey, Billy Ray Cyrus, and the K-pop boy band group, BTS.

This seems like an odd collaboration on paper, but in reality, they are all outstanding together on stage. Even singers from extremely different genres performed together to make outstanding songs for the show. For example, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani collaborated together to sing their new single, “Nobody But You,” at the Grammys.

Many artists decided to sing their most successful hits that have already debuted, but several other performers chose to bring brand new songs to the table. Singers like Demi Lovato and the Jonas Brothers introduced a variety of new singles at the Grammys.

While the Grammys were chock-full of fantastic performances, it would not be the Grammys without the actual awards themselves. There were many categories at the Grammys such as Best Music Video, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, Best Pop Solo Performance, and so many more.

With all of these categories, there are mainly four that are not specific to one single genre: Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best New Artist. This year all four of these categories had the same winner, Billie Eilish.

This successful singer is only 18 years old, and has already blown away her competition at her first Grammy Awards with winning all of these categories and more. Billie Eilish was not the only winner of the night though; there were lots of winners throughout the whole night including Lizzo, Dan + Shay, Willie Nelson, and so many more.

The 62nd annual Grammy Awards were jam packed with awards, celebrities, and most importantly music. With the success of this year’s Grammy Awards, there is no doubt that next year will be even better than ever.

Baby Yoda takes over the world

The adorable “Baby Yoda” captured the hearts of Disney+ users, as well as the rest of the Internet. Social Media exploded with memes showing admiration for the creature

Disney Plus, the latest streaming service, has and continues to come out with many of its own original TV shows and movies, including High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, Diary of a Future President, Stargirl, and many more.

One of Disney Plus’s more popular shows, The Mandalorian, has had a more attention than all of the other shows. The reason for all of this attention toward the show is because of one tiny aspect, a little character that Star Wars fans indicate as “Baby Yoda.”

The Mandalorian is the first live action Star Wars television show that takes place on the official Star Wars timeline between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens, and it is inspired by the classic Star Wars character, Boba Fett. This television show stars prior Game of Thrones actor Pedro Pasco, former mixed martial artist Gina Carano, and successful actor Carl Weathers. They all play such important roles in the television show, but the one character to pay attention to is Baby Yoda.

“Baby Yoda” refers to a character in the Star Wars series named Yoda, who was a wise master in the Star Wars franchise. In The Mandalorian, “Baby Yoda” is not the actual name of the character, it is officially called “The Child,” but with its resemblance to Yoda from Star Wars the Internet has taken the liberty to give it the name “Baby Yoda.”  From this television show, Baby Yoda has gone viral throughout the Internet creating videos, art, memes, and even merchandise.

ShopDisney has taken this opportunity to create merchandise that is exclusively dedicated to Baby Yoda. On their website, shopdisney.com, when “Baby Yoda” is typed into the search bar, Baby Yoda shirts, water bottles, phone cases, plushes, bags, and even mugs will pop up for anyone to shop until their heart’s content.

Along with ShopDisney, big companies like Build-A-Bear Workshop are getting in on all the action. The CEO of Build-A-Bear Workshop, Sharon Price John, has recently announced that Baby Yoda will soon be available at Build-A-Bear Workshops nationwide. Baby Yoda is inspiring almost every audience, whether it is someone making a meme, outfit, or baked good, everyone is able to be enthused by Baby Yoda.

Baby Yoda has taken over the Internet since The Mandalorian introduced this character to the world. This popularity for Baby Yoda has definitely made a big impact not only for the television show itself, but also the Internet. There are multiple things that make Baby Yoda wildly popular; he has power within him, a sense of mystery about him, and most importantly, he is a very adorable creature. All of this draws the viewer’s attention to Baby Yoda, thus outlining his fame.

Baby Yoda has stolen the hearts of all of its viewers and has gone viral because of his lovable persona. With The Mandalorian exceeding the crowd’s expectations with Baby Yoda, there should be much more to anticipate out of the popular television show.
